HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Seriously, one of my New Year's goals is to be a more consistent blogger. I've said it in the past, so if you decide to not believe me, that's totally fine!!

Just wanted to say happy New Year to everyone! I feel like Kyle and I had a great 2012, but we are very much looking forward to 2013. We have decided to make an "Adventure List" for all of the cool, outdoorsy things we would like to accomplish this year. I'll post the official list later this month (we are giving ourselves a week to finalize it!).

Today, we did get to go on a hike! We hiked in Washington Park (where we have taken both of our families to the Hoyt Aboretum) and completed the loop that is recommended from our book, but we did it backwards. It took us about 1 hr and 20 minutes for about 4 miles. It was a great way to start the new year because MORE HIKING is one of our biggest goals! It was beautifully sunny out today, but a little chilly! We had wonderful views of Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens at parts of our hike and drive to the trail.

At the Redwood Deck--family members have been to this!

There was some elevation change, nothing too drastic though!

Sun shining through the trees! And Kyle had the camera the whole time :)

Neither Kyle or I had to work today, it was great! We started our day by sleeping in (we stayed up to 2 am playing cards at a friend's house), then we to another friend's place for breakfast before our hike. After the hike, we climbed at the Circuit before heading home to make dinner. We had spiced red lentils as I heard that lentils are supposed to bring you good luck and fortune for the new year. It was a great day!

Starting the hike and blinded by the sun with Mt. St. Helens is just visible above my pack!

I hope you had a splendid New Year's Eve and Day!
