It's been awhile...

So believe me when I say...I have about 30 posts to catch up on. You're right, I haven't blogged since the middle of June. Which is a ridiculously long time considering it is the end of August. But I have a decent reason...

During our hike that we last posted about from Cape Lookout State Park, I had my camera in my back pocket, and then sat on a rock. Rocks and cameras don't mix. Failure on my part. I did get a new phone in June right along the same time I broke the camera. My phone's camera has an 8 megapixel camera on it, which is about the same as my old point and shoot camera. So, in theory, my phone would just replace my camera.

WRONG!

I am having THE MOST DIFFICULT TIME getting my pictures off my camera and onto the BLOG. I can get the pictures onto the internet. I can get them onto the computer. But anytime I try to download them onto the blog, it won't let me. If I try to get them off the internet, I have to be logged in as Kyle, but my pictures are under my screen name in my web album. They won't let me share pictures with Kyle, and on the blogger, it won't let me download them from the album because I'm not the "main blogger". As for getting them from the computer, it keeps saying there is some sort of security thing and won't let me view them.

LAME.

So enough complaining and boring blog talk. This will fix the problem:

Thats right. I want this camera. And to make it better, Kyle also wants this camera. So we are currently saving our pennies for the Nikon D5100, but not just so I can put pictures on the blog, but so we can take better photos.

I want to be able to take photos like this:

From National Geographic Photo of the Day: Licancabur Volcano
and this:

From National Geographic Photo of the Day: Best Pictures of March 2011
and this:

From National Geographic Photo of the Day: Best of July 2011

ok, yes I do realize that none of my photos will be this amazing simply by buying a new camera. But it is a step in the right direction.

And payday is Friday, so I'm crossing my fingers that I will be able to go out and get that camera! Kyle and I have plans to go hiking on Saturday morning and then to the zoo in the afternoon, and only a nice camera could make the day better!

Plus I want a picture of a giraffe, just like this:

From National Geographic Photo of the Day: Giraffe

PS: Giraffes are my favorite animal, so if I did take a picture like this I would make it giant and hang it on my wall.
PSS: I'm currently a little obssesed with National Geographic's Photo of the Day
PSSS: I am going to try and post a new blog post at least 2x/week throughout the month of September! Be excited! Now if I can get Kyle to agree to post at least 1x/week, then we would be at 3x/week and everyone would be happy!
